

What's in a name? A lot! We often have people ask us about the origin of our company and "How do you pronounce that?"
Chi-Mar (pronouced Ki-mar) is the melding of two names: Chip (Chi) and Marty (Mar) Williams. Chip, Marty's older brother, was a huge support systyem for Marty and he urged him to go in to the homebuilding business. The Chi-Mar name is a constant reminder of Chip, and the positive energy he embodied, for everyone that knew Chip.
MARTY WILLIAMS, Founder and CEO, came to the Florida Panhandle ten years ago and began building houses through a general contractor. What he found disturbed him—builders who did not hold to their schedule or budget and didn't provide quality products or consideration for the customer.
With his background at American Buildings Inc., and his desire to live and work in this community, Marty became a state certified builder and formed Chi-Mar Construction LLC. He is known for "making things happen" and keeping residential construction on time and on budget. Our goal is to make the entire construction process enjoyable for you as the homeowner. We are equipped to handle all aspects of the construction process; coordinating with the architect, engineer, county building departments and Design Review Boards on behalf of our customers – 95% of whom have been remotely located from their new home construction. Chi-Mar Construction is known as a value-driven, full-service builder, who maintains close personal contact with our clients. We are also very proactive as value engineers and we strive to find newer and less expensive methods and materials to keep construction costs down. It is our hands-on approach to construction and attention to detail that has helped Chi-Mar grow along the way. Our goal is to provide a quality product at an affordable price.
SHANNON NELSON, Operations, has been with Chi-Mar Construction LLC since July of 2004 and is responsible for the daily operations. All sub-contractor and vendor payments are handled locally by Shannon and she is the liaison between the suppliers and the on-site project managers. Shannon manages the sub-contractor bidding process, ensures timely delivery of materials, and coordinates interior selections and finishes with the homeowner or interior designer.

We can take you from Start to Finish and everywhere in between. If you have a vacant lot and aren't sure what to do next, we'll help you discover the home design you want – with a skilled Architect you can afford. We can take you all the way from the dirt to a fully decorated home.
Caring for You:
We spend time learning about you and what is important to you. By doing this, we can determine what motivates you and what needs must be met, instead of trying to mold your desires to fit a "canned plan."
Communication:
We keep you informed on the progress of your project through emails and our website with updated pictures of your home. We welcome your on-site visits anytime!
Up Front Planning & Organization:
To ensure that your construction project progresses smoothly you and your Project Manager will come together to complete a detailed spreadsheet of every item, brand, color, and specification for all of the selection items in your home. This sheet stays with you long after the construction is complete so should you ever want to repaint, refinish, or redesign you will have all of these colors and specifications handy.
Value:
We can't promise we will be your lowest bidder and we sure won't be your highest.
